Sale for scholarships

ESCANABA — The local Chapter EE of the P.E.O. Sisterhood (Philanthropic Educational Organization) is a group of women that meets monthly to promote educational opportunities for area students.

On Friday, Aug.12, the group is holding a garage sale, with all proceeds going to a local scholarship for an area student. The local chapter focuses on women who are coming back to school to re-enter the workplace.

There will be a large variety of items for sale. The sale will be held at 1501 16th Avenue South in Escanaba on Friday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dance in Rock

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Mapleridge Road, on Sunday, Aug. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. Music will be provided by The Two Of Us. There is a cost at the door and a free will donation lunch will be available.

Gladstone Class of 1970 reunion Sept. 17

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Class of 1970 will hold their 52nd reunion on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Gladstone Yacht Club.

St. Anthony’s pasty sale

ESCANABA — St. Anthony’s Church will hold a pasty sale Aug. 18 and 19. Pasties are available plain or with rutabaga.

ESCANABA — The Community Service Center food pantry adjacent to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Escanaba is open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday and Friday.
