Free Thanksgiving ­dinner at Grace Church

GLADSTONE — A free Thanksgiving dinner will be served at Grace Church in Gladstone Thursday, Nov. 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The church is located at 528 28th St. All are welcome.

St. Anthony-St. Thomas Christmas dinner

ESCANABA — St. Anthony and St. Thomas parishes will host their annual Christmas dinner and bazaar from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5 at the St. Thomas Parish Hall, 1820 9th Ave. N., in Escanaba. There is a fee for the dinner, but kids five and under eat free. Curbside pickup is available from 1 to 2 p.m. by reservation. Pickup reservations should be called in to Sharon at 786-6380, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., by Dec. 1. Regular takeout orders will also be available.

The bazaar will offer a raffle of themed gift baskets, a silent auction, 50/50 raffles and silver dollar, craft and bake sale booths.

Legion plans meals

GLADSTONE — Gladstone American Legion Post 71 will not be holding steak dinners in November or December. The dinners are slated to begin again in January of 2022. More details will be announced at a later date.

Taco Tuesdays will continue each Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

No breakfast will be held in November, but breakfast will return Dec. 19 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Elks Auxiliary to meet

ESCANABA — The Elks Auxiliary will hold their December meeting on Thursday, Dec. 2. Bring an unwrapped gift for Toys for Tots to meeting. Social hour is at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:45 p.m. The meeting will follow.

Turkey Trot Thursday

GLADSTONE — The 23rd Gladstone Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk will be held Thursday, Nov. 25, with registration at the Gladstone Kids Kingdom in Van Cleve Park beginning at 8 a.m. Walkers will start at 8:40 a.m. and runners will begin at 9 a.m. The run/walk will be an untimed event.

The registration fee is a canned food or monetary donation, which will be given to the Gladstone St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Salvation Army.
