Turkey Trot Thursday

GLADSTONE — The 23rd Gladstone Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk will be held Thursday, Nov. 25, with registration at the Gladstone Kids Kingdom in Van Cleve Park beginning at 8 a.m. Walkers will start at 8:40 a.m. and runners will begin at 9 a.m. The run/walk will be an untimed event.

The registration fee is a canned food or monetary donation, which will be given to the Gladstone St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Salvation Army.

Meat pies for sale

ESCANABA — St. Anthony’s Church will be holding a meat pie sale Dec. 9 and 10, with pick up at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba from 1 to 4 p.m.

The ten-inch pies, which are half pork and half beef, must be pre-ordered. Call or text Debbie at 906-399-4259.

NARFE Chapter 1900 elects new officers

ESCANABA — Chapter 1900 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) elected the following 2022 officers at its November meeting: Dale Ollila of Marquette, president and treasurer; Clyde Morgan of Negaunee, first vice president; Ken Andersen of L’Anse, second vice president; and Maggie Morgan of Negaunee, secretary.

Chapter 1900 will not meet in December. Its next regular meeting will be Jan. 26, 2022, at the Marquette Senior Center and on Zoom.

NARFE Chapter 1900 includes members from the Marquette, L’Anse, Houghton, Hancock, Ontonagon, Escanaba and Rapid River areas.
