Toy’s sought for ­children’s hospitals

ESCANABA — Kindness Rocks Delta County and Pioneer TV and Appliance are asking the community to open their hearts by donating a new toy valued at $10 or more. The toys will be donated to children’s hospitals — a bucket-list request by Kambria, a local 10-year-old who was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), an aggressive and difficult to treat brain tumor.

Every donation enters the donor into a drawing for a $1,000 store credit at Pioneer TV and Appliance.

All donations must be brought to Pioneer TV and Appliance with receipt of purchase and must meet the qualifying requirements to be entered in the drawing. The drawing will be held on Kindness Rocks Delta County Facebook page live on Oct. 2.

MARSP to meet Oct. 5

ESCANABA — The Delta County chapter of MARSP will hold its October meeting on Oct. 5 at noon at St. Joseph’s Church, in Perkins. Meeting details will be announced at a later date.
