Library invites public to summer reading programs

STEPHENSON — The Menominee County Library is inviting the public to its summer reading programs.

Pamela Cameron, author of “Ship Dog,” a 2020 Michigan Notable Book, will be giving a presentation on June 28 at the main library, beginning at 11 a.m.

The weekly summer reading program “Tales and Tails,” for school-aged children, will be offered in both Stephenson and Hermansville. The main branch program will be held on Thursdays, starting at noon, in the Stephenson Township Hall, next door to the main library branch. The Hermansville Branch program will take place on Mondays, starting at 10 a.m. in the William Anderson Sportsman’s Club Hall in Hermansville.

“Take and Make” activities will be available at all Bookmobile stops and at both library branches if you cannot attend one of the in-person sessions.

A new program this year for teens called “Palette Play” will be a creativity camp on Tuesday afternoons at the main library.

The Friends Summer Book Sale will be open daily from the middle of July through August in the Bookmobile garage. Attendees should look for the Bookmobile at the Menominee County Fair, July 16-18, and at stops around the community.

For more information about library programs, stop at either library branch, call 906-753-6923, or check the Menomonee County Library Facebook Page.
