Porath promoted to Air Force captain

GLADSTONE — Aaron Porath, son of Ray and Tana Porath of Gladstone and grandson of late Dorothy Porath and Karen and Wayne Owens of Escanaba, was recently promoted to captain in the United States Air Force. Porath, a homeschool graduate of Delta County, is a Special Operations Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Pilot.

Porath is part of the 27 Special Operations Wing, 12 Special Operations Squadron (SOS) out of Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico. The 12th SOS specializes in RPA launch and recovery, and are considered subject matter experts on the MQ-9 Reaper. The Reaper is a medium altitude RPA that is designed for surveillance, military reconnaissance, targeting, and ground attack missions.

Porath would like to acknowledge and thank all of the support from his family, friends and local community, as well as those who support and are part of the United States Military.
