U.P. Sing Off event ­rescheduled for Feb. 15

NAHMA — Due to the inclement weather on Jan. 18, the 4th Annual U.P. Sing Off will be held at the Nahma Inn Saturday, Feb. 15 at 7 pm.

Singers must be at least 18 years old and have their own karaoke CD. Singer registration is payable at 6:30 p.m. that evening. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded. Call Mary at 906-474-6109 or 906-420-0610.

Mystery box and basket drawings will also take place during the event.

The Sing Off is sponsored by The Isabella Community Hall committee for ongoing restoration projects.

Wells Lions 52 Club ­raffle winner named

WELLS — The winner of the Wells Lions 52 Club raffle for Jan. 27 is Chris Loftus of Escanaba, who won $100. This was week 26 of the raffle.

Breakfast at St. Thomas

ESCANABA — St. Thomas Church, located at 1820 9th Ave. North, Escanaba, will hold a breakfast Sunday, Feb. 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public is welcome. There is a fee for the breakfast.

Gladstone Class of 1970 reunion meeting

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone High School Class of 1970 is holding a 50-year class reunion meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. at 1204 Lake Shore Drive, Gladstone. All classmates are encouraged to attend. Information concerning the progress of the reunion can be viewed on Facebook by searching “Gladstone High School Class of 1970.”

Pet therapy class set

MARQUETTE — Superiorland Pet Partners, a community partner of international pet therapy group Pet Partners, is holding a handler class Saturday, Feb. 15 in Marquette for people who would enjoy volunteering with their animal as a pet therapy team.

Veterans service officer sets office hours

HERMANSVILLE — Menominee County Veterans Service Officer Mike Dellisse will be holding office hours Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Floriano-Stecker-Kelly American Legion Hall in Hermansville.

Veterans or widows that need assistance with the Veterans Administration, claims with the Administration, Agent Orange, headstones, grave-markers, or information on the Oscar Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain should see Dellisse on visit to Hermansville. Dellisse can also answer questions about the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund for Menominee County.

Sons of Union Veterans to meet Saturday

MARQUETTE — Camp 266 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will hold their bi-monthly meeting on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. in the old board room at the Jacobetti Veterans Home in Marquette. The room is on the lower level of the building and is easily accessible from the rear parking lot.

The key agenda item is the Civil War display in the new Upper Peninsula Veterans Museum in Escanaba.

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a fraternal organization dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the heroes who fought and worked to save the Union. Camp 266 includes members from across the Upper Peninsula. The focus of the camp is locating, marking, and maintaining graves of Civil War veterans as well as researching Civil War history.
