Live music at Amvets

ESCANABA — Amvets Post 123 will host the band Country Cousins on the Nov. 29 at 7 p.m.

On Nov. 30, the post will host karaoke DJ “KJ Karaoke” at 7 p.m.

Christmas cookie sale

ESCANABA — The First Presbyterian Church 819 1st Ave. South, Escanaba will be holding its Annual Christmas Cookie Sale on Saturday, Dec. 14 starting at 10 a.m. All kinds of cookies — homemade, fancy, old-fashioned, and decorated — will be available by the pound. The church is handicapped accessible.

Christmas bazaar

ESCANABA — The St. Anthony/St. Thomas Annual Christmas Bazaar will take place Sunday, Dec. 8 in the St. Thomas Parish Hall, located at 1820 9th Ave North in Escanaba. A meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is a cost for the meal. There will also be a cash raffle, silver dollar games, 50/50 raffles, basket raffles, a bake sale, silent auction, crafts and more.

Takeout meals are available. All are welcome.

Mill retirees to meet

ESCANABA — The Mill Retirees group will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the Union Hall on Sheridan Road at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be provided and there will be a 50/50 drawing.

All mill retirees are invited to attend. The group meets the first Wednesday of every month.

Democratic Party to hold meeting Dec. 4

ESCANABA — The Delta County Democratic Party will hold its monthly meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at USW Union Hall, 1201 Sheridan Rd., Escanaba. Social is at 6:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 7 p.m.

American Legion meets

RAPID RIVER — The Rapid River American Legion meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. The next meeting is Dec. 3.

Day Services seeks printed materials

ESCANABA — Community Action Agency Adult Day Services, formerly Perspectives Adult Care Center is in need of your old greeting cards and magazines to be used in different activities.

The pictures will be used to make notepads, bookmarks, and daily place mats. Cards do not have to be taken apart as they will be incorporated into an activity.

Items may be dropped off at Community Action Adult Day Services, located at the Gary Abrahamson Jr. Memory Care Center, 2635 1st Ave. S. in Escanaba (past West Highland, the last building on the left behind Bishop Noa Home) or at any senior center in the Delta County area.

Clothes Closet at Memorial UMC hours

GLADSTONE — The Memorial United Methodist Clothes Closet is open each Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Gently used clothing is available for all. The church is located at 1920 Lake Shore Drive.

Class of 1963 lunch

ESCANABA — The gals of the Escanaba High School Class of 1963 will be holding a monthly noon ladies’ lunch the second Wednesday of every month at the Family Inn Restaurant. Friends and spouses of class members are welcome.

DAV to hold meeting

ESCANABA — The next scheduled meeting for the DAV Chapter 24 will be held on Monday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Military Order of the Purple Heart building, located at 1202 Sheridan Road, Escanaba.

All disabled veterans are welcome.
