Forest Service retirees Christmas luncheon

WELLS — The annual Forest Service retirees Christmas luncheon will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Buck Inn in Wells starting at 11:30 a.m. Members are asked to bring non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry.

Donations for D.J. Jacobetti Home

ESCANABA — Those wishing to donate to the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette can drop off items at the Amvets Post 123, located at 1315 North Lincoln Road in Escanaba.

Items can include Forever stamps, personal fans, watches with stretch bands, electric razors (cordless), personal CD players/radios, current magazines, and more.

The home for veterans is currently not accepting clothing protectors, and until further notice, will not accept lap robes and books due to an ample supply.

Seventh Day Adventist food pantry hours

ESCANABA — The Community Service Center food pantry adjacent to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Escanaba is open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday and Saturday.

DAV to hold meeting

ESCANABA — The next scheduled meeting for the DAV Chapter 24 will be held on Monday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Military Order of the Purple Heart building, located at 1202 Sheridan Road, Escanaba.

All disabled veterans are welcome.

Daily activities at senior center in Hermansville

HERMANSVILLE — The Hermansville Senior Center has various activities going on every week. Every day, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., walking is available. They also have a treadmill available. Morning coffee is also available everyday.

Every Tuesday and Friday, 15 games of bingo are played, starting at 12:45 p.m.

On Wednesday afternoons, enjoy a game of cards.

Craft day is the third Monday of the month.

Foot clinic is on the third Tuesday of the month. The nurse arrives at 9 a.m. Bring a towel. Call the center to register for the foot clinic.

Lights for Tree of Honor and Remembrance

GLADSTONE — Honor or remember someone with a light on the Christmas tree in Gladstone’s Van Cleve Park. Lights are available to purchase at www.gladstonekiwanis.weebly.com.

Join Santa in a tree lighting ceremony, which will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. Cookies and refreshments will be served.

Northern Vegans Thanksgiving potluck

NEGAUNEE — The Northern Vegans will be having their 13th Annual Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located on the corner of U.S. 41 West and Baldwin Avenue in Negaunee, on Thursday, Nov. 28. The dinner will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Guests are asked to bring a vegan dish to share — no meat, dairy, eggs or honey — or consider donating if they are unable to bring vegan food.

Bark River Senior Center activities set

BARK RIVER — The Bark River Seniors meet each Wednesday for a Meals on Wheels dinner at 11:30 a.m. EST. There is a cost for the meal.

The coffee pot will be on and there will be opportunities for visiting and cards beginning at 9 a.m. Sit-&-Fit exercises begin at 10 a.m., for those interested. Bingo follows lunch.
