LSSU students at Bay College make dean’s list

ESCANABA — Five area residents made Lake Superior State University’s dean’s list for the spring (January) 2019 semester. All are earning baccalaureate degrees through classes offered at LSSU’s Regional Center on Bay College’s campus.

Sarah Gakstatter, of Iron Mountain, and Emily Johnson, of Wilson, are majoring in nursing; Heather Lalonde, of Rapid River, and Michael Larson, of Rapid River, are majoring in accounting; and Olivia Rivard, of Wilson, is majoring in business administration. To make the dean’s list, students must achieve at least a 3.5 GPA while taking at least twelve LSSU credits during the semester.

“Each of these students are well-deserving of this academic recognition,” said Heidi Berg, LSSU’s coordinator for the Escanaba/Iron Mountain Regional Center.

LSSU offers baccalaureate degree programs at Bay College’s campuses in Escanaba and Iron Mountain that let area students earn a degree close to home.
