Indian Ed feast tonight

GLADSTONE — Gladstone Schools Title VI Indian Ed Spring Feast & Honoring Our Graduates will be held form 5-7 p.m. on Monday, May 6 at the junior high cafeteria.

Audubon Club to meet

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Audubon Club will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday, May 8. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. It will be held in Room 961 of the Joseph Heirman University center at Bay College.

This meeting is open to anyone interested in birding. There is no charge. This will be the last meeting of the Audubon Club in the 2018-2019 school year.

Meetings will resume in September.

AAUW to hold dinner meeting, elections

ESCANABA — The American Association of University Women (AAUW) will hold its annual Election of Officers Dinner Meeting on May 9 at the Stonehouse.

Cocktails will begin at 5 p.m. and dinner will be ordered off the menu at 6 p.m.

The program will feature Dr. Julie Bender Lewter. She will speak about adult mental health. Member of the year will be announced, and a discussion of upcoming summer events will take place.

AAUW is open to men and women holding an associate’s degree or higher.

Started in 1881, the organization is globally recognized for its advancement of equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research. For more information on AAUW call 906-474-6545.

Legion Riders to meet

GLADSTONE — The Legion Riders will meet May 15 at 7 p.m. at the American Legion, locate at 802 Delta Ave., Gladstone. All bikers are welcomed. For any question call, Bill Germain at 280-5604, or Mike King at 280-0759.

Benefit for David Johnson May 11

ESCANABA –A benefit for David Johnsen, who is battling small cell renal cancer, will be held Saturday, May 11 at the Elk’s Lodge 501 Ludington St. Escanaba, from 3 to 7 p.m. There will be food, bucket raffles, silent auction, 50/50 drawings and a bake sale.

Community service craft and furniture sale

ESCANABA — The 94th District Court Probation and Court Services Department will be holding a community service craft and furniture sale Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the southwest corner of Elmer’s County Market parking lot in Escanaba.

There will be an array of items for sale with all proceeds going to the Community Foundation for Delta County. For more information on the items to be sold, visit the 94th District Court Facebook page.

Right to Life meeting

ESCANABA — Right to Life of Delta County will meet Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. in Room 961 of the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College. Plans will be made for upcoming projects and events including the “Choose Life” outreach booth at the U.P. State Fair (Monday, Aug. 12 through Sunday, Sept. 14), an August billboard, and the prayerful Life Chain to be held in Escanaba in October.

Spring salad luncheon

ESCANABA — The 50th Anniversary Spring Salad Luncheon will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 819 1st Ave. South, Escanaba, Friday, May 10 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Take out is available. The church is barrier free. A donation will be taken at the door.
