The Ghost Riders at Amvets Friday

ESCANABA — Amvets Post 123, located at 1315 North Lincoln Road in Escanaba, is featuring country band The Ghost Riders from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, March 15. The public is welcome.

Wells Lions 52 club ­raffle winner named

WELLS — The winner of the Wells Lions Club raffle for the week of March 11 is Mike DeShambo of Escanaba. DeShambo won $100. This was week 32 of the raffle.

Historical presentation planned for March 20

ESCANABA — The Delta County Historical Society’s Winter Outreach Series will feature “Escanaba in the 1920s: Shipping, Shopping and Sewers,” with Charles Lindquist Wednesday, March 20 at 7 p.m.

The presentation will take place in room 952 of the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College. The public is welcome and there is no charge to attend the presentation.

American Legion to hold breakfast March 17

GLADSTONE — The American Legion in Gladstone is serving breakfast on Sunday, March 17 from 9 a.m. to noon. The public is welcome.

Escanaba Class of 1984 reunion planned for July

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Class of 1984 will be holding its 35th reunion Saturday, July 6 at the Terrace Bluff Golf Club in Gladstone.

There will be a nine-hole event, but classmates will be allowed to continue on to 18. Those without a foursome will be paired up. There are additional fees for golfing and renting a cart.

Appetizers and cocktails — provided through a cash bar — will be available from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Music for dancing will be provided by DJ Tony Runkel till midnight.

St. Joseph Class reunion

ESCANABA — It’s time for the St. Joseph Class of 1954 to hold its 65th class reunion. There is some discussion about joining with the Escanaba Class of 1954, which is also planning a reunion. If you are a classmate and have interest, call Barb Rodman at 906-786-1169.

Escanaba Title VI Indian Education meeting

ESCANABA — Escanaba Schools Title VI Indian Education Program will have a parent committee meeting on Monday, March 18 at 5 p.m. in the teachers’ lounge of the Upper Elementary School, 1500 Ludington St. All are welcome. Call 786-7462, ext. 2216, for more information.

MADD seeks volunteers

ESCANABA — Volunteers are needed for MADD. Opportunities are available for those interested in volunteering a couple of times a year or a couple of times a week. There are a wide variety of opportunities to match interests and expertise. Some options include speaking, answering the help-line calls, organizing victim impact panels, mailing information or just displaying MADD red ribbons.

GLADSTONE — The American Legion Post 71, located at 802 Delta Avenue in Gladstone, will be having Taco Tuesday from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday.
