GFWC donated to Life Rides program in 2018

ESCANABA — GFWC Escanaba Woman’s Club supported the OSF Life Rides again this year by making a $150 donation to the program. LifeRides provide free transportation on New Year’s Eve to encourage safety on the roads.

Esky Class of 1959 looking for classmates

ESCANABA — Escanaba High School Class of 1959 is planning its 60th class reunion for Friday, July 5 at the Escanaba Elks Club and Saturday, July 6 at the Island Resort and Casino.

Oranizers are looking for addresses for the following classmates: John Schmitt, Donald Myers, Morris Sorby, Marvin Viau, Gerald Nelson, Charles Owens, Peter Olson, Gail (Anderson) Deloria, and Mary (Maki) Starnes.

Sing Off set for Jan. 19

NAHMA — The “3rd Annual Sing Off,” sponsored by the Isabella Community Hall, will take place Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Nahma Inn at 7 p.m.

All singers must be at least 18 years of age and have their own professional karaoke CD+G (compact disc with graphics) with just music and not vocals. Singer registration is payable by 6:30 p.m. that evening.

MADD seeks volunteers

ESCANABA — Volunteers are needed for MADD. Opportunities are available for those interested in volunteering a couple of times a year or a couple of times a week. There are a wide variety of opportunities to match interests and expertise. Some options include speaking, answering the help-line calls, organizing victim impact panels, mailing information or just displaying MADD red ribbons.

Donations needed to support voter services

ESCANABA — The Delta County League of Women Voters is looking for donations of books, audiobooks, DVDs and music CDs to be sold at its annual book sale in August. They are also in need of large print books, which are often requested.

Funds from the annual sale are used to publish voter guides and for other voter services.

Donated materials should be no more than 10 years old and in good condition.

They can be delivered to Pat Rudden at First Bank (formerly Northern Michigan Bank), 1921 3rd Ave. N., or she can be reached at 906-280-1789 to arrange for pick up.

Taco Tuesday at American Legion

GLADSTONE — The American Legion Post 71, located at 802 Delta Avenue in Gladstone, will be having Taco Tuesday from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday.

YMCA to host Glow Yoga and Dance Party

ESCANABA — The Northern Lights YMCA – Delta Center will be hosting a Glow Yoga and Dance Party on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. The party will begin at 6 p.m. with Glow Yoga and follow with Glow Dance from 7 to 9 p.m. at YMCA fitness studio, room 2017 located at the MTECH center on Bay College campus.

There is a cost for the event. Registered participants will receive a glow bracelet and glow paint upon arrival. To register for the event, or to obtain information, stop by the YMCA or call the front desk at 906-789-000 and ask for Amy Fudala or Jody Bergeon.
