Legion Post 340 to hold December meeting

HERMANSVILLE — The Floriano-Stecker-Kelly American Legion Post 340 of Hermansville will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Club Rooms in Hermansville.

Angels & Outlaws to play at Amvets Friday

ESCANABA — Amvets Post 123, located at 1315 North Lincoln Rd. in Escanaba, is featuring country and variety band Angels & OutLaws Friday, Dec. 7 from 7 to 11 p.m.. The public is welcome.

Winners of Wells Lions Club raffle named

WELLS — The winners of the Wells Lions Club 52 week raffle for the week of Dec. 3 are the Wells Lioness Club of Escanaba and Margie Sauve of Gladstone. The club and Sauve each won $250. This was week 18 of the raffle.

NAMI to meet Dec. 10

MARQUETTE — The National Alliance on Mental Illness-Alger/Marquette offers free, confidential peer support groups and educational meetings for individuals living with mental illness, and friends or families living with an individual with mental illness.

A support group will gather Monday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Baraga Place Conference Room, 129 West Baraga Avenue in Marquette. For more information, call 906-360-7107 or visit www.namiam.org.

In case of bad weather, if NMU cancels evening classes, the NAMI meeting will also be cancelled.

Afternoon with Santa

HERMANSVILLE — A free afternoon with Santa will take place on Dec. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Hermansville. Hot dogs, chips, hot chocolate, cookies and coffee will be available. Bring the kids for pictures with Santa. The public is welcome.

Memorial UMC to hold cookie sale Dec. 8

GLADSTONE — Memorial United Methodist Church, located at 1920 Lake Shore Dr. in Gladstone, will hold a Christmas cookie bake sale and bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Historical society bake sale set for Dec. 15

ESCANABA — The Delta County Historical Society will conduct its annual Christmas bake sale on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the museum at Sand Point. The society asks members and friends to participate, both as bakers and as buyers. Cookies, breads, candies and other treats may be dropped off at the multi-purpose room at the DCHS Beaumier Museum building, beginning at 9 a.m. the day of the sale. Sales will begin at 10 a.m.

Customers and donors are invited to tour the museum without charge and to enjoy the winter view of Little Bay de Noc from the multipurpose room.

Chocolates, historic maps, local history books, maple syrup, and other items will be for sale at the museum desk.

Proceeds support the non-profit society’s efforts to preserve and display Delta County history.

Foster Grandparents plan in-service, lunch

HARRIS– The Foster Grandparent Program will be having an in-service meeting and their Christmas luncheon on Friday, Dec. 7. The in-service meeting will be at 10:30 a.m. The luncheon will begin at 12 p.m. The meeting and luncheon will be at the Island Resort and Casino, W399 US 2, in Harris, Mich.

Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.
