Benefit for Baby Robitaille is Saturday

ESCANABA — Baby Robitaille has been diagnosed with hypo plastic left heart syndrome. He will need three separate heart surgeries to sustain life. A benefit will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Escanaba Elks Lodge. There will be a spaghetti dinner, basket raffles, silent auction and bake sale. Proceeds will help with medical and travel expenses. Donations can also be made to Baby Robitaille at Delta County Credit Union .

Cedar Creek Country Band performs Friday

ESCANABA — The Cedar Creek Country Band is scheduled to perform live Friday, Nov. 2, at the Amvets Hall in Escanaba from 7 to 11 p.m. A donation will be accepted at the door. All are welcome.

Escanaba Lions Club meets on Monday

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Lions Club will hold their next regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 5, at the Escanaba Elks Lodge. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. The Escanaba Lions Club is part of the Lions organization that has been in existence for over 100 years and is the largest service club in the world. The motto of the Lions Club is “We Serve”. The group is seeking new members with ideas and are eager to serve the local community. Anyone interested in finding out more about the Escanaba Lions or would like to attend the next meeting as a guest, should contact Jay Owens, club president, at (906) 280-5332.

GFWC ‘Make It, Take It’ membership meeting

ESCANABA — The November GFWC-Escanaba Woman’s Club meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Pacinos Restaurant. The “Make It, Take It” auction will take place from 11:15 a.m. until the meeting begins at noon. There is a fee for lunch and reservations can be made by calling Sue at 233-7436 by Nov. 12.

GFWC welcomes new members and invites those interested in learning more about the group to attend a meeting.

WELLS — The Wells Lions 52 club raffle winner of week 13 dated 10-29-18 is Kathleen Illig of Gladstone. She won $100.

St. Thomas Breakfast planned Sunday

ESCANABA — St. Thomas Breakfast will be held Sunday, Nov. 4, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Parish Hall, 1820 9th Ave. N., Escanaba. Eggs, pancakes, sausage, potatoes, toast, coffee and juice will be served. There is a fee for breakfast an children 5 and under eat free. All are welcome.

St. Thomas Pasty Sale slated Nov. 5-6

ESCANABA — St. Thomas is having a pasty sale Nov. 5 and 6. Pasties varieties are plain or with rutabaga. Pick up is at St. Thomas Parish Hall, 1820 9th Ave. N., Escanaba, from 2 to 5 p.m. To order call 786-7053.

Veterans service officer sets office hours

HERMANSVILLE — Mike Dellisse, Menominee County veterans service officer, will be holding office hours on Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Floriano-Stecker-Kelly American Legion Hall in Hermansville.

Veterans or widows that need assistance with the Veterans Administration, claims with the Veterans Administration, Agent Orange, headstones, grave markers, or information on the Oscar Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain should see Dellisse on visit to Hermansville.
