Teamsters retirees to meet Sept. 19 in Esky

ESCANABA — The Teamsters Retirees Club of Delta County will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at the Escanaba Civic Center, located at 225 N. 21st Street, Escanaba.

Lunch is at noon with the meeting to follow at 12:30 p.m.

All Teamsters are invited to attend. A 50/50 drawing will be held.

American Legion to hold ­breakfast this Sunday

GLADSTONE — The American Legion in Gladstone will be having their all-you-can-eat-breakfast on Sept. 16. They will be serving from 9 a.m. to noon. There is a cost to attend.

AAUW to hold fall kick-off luncheon Sept. 22

ESCANABA — The American Association of University Women (AAUW) will hold its fall kick-off luncheon on Sept. 22 at Hereford and Hops. A short business meeting will start at 11 a.m. followed by lunch. Those attending will be able to order off the menu.

The guest speaker will be Teresa Nelson. She is currently the only woman on the Delta County Commission. Nelson will discuss her career in public service, women in politics and her position on the commission. Please RSVP to Judy at 906-789-1905 by Sept. 19.

AAUW is open to men and women holding an associate’s degree or higher.

ESCANABA — Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes Delta Bay will be holding their open registration/recruitment nights for the following schools:

— Rapid River, Sept. 17, 6-7:30 p.m.

— Gladstone Cameron, Sept. 25, 6-7 p.m.

— Gladstone Jones, Sept. 25 6-7 p.m.

— Escanaba Lemmer, Sept. 25 5:30-6:30 p.m.

— Escanaba Webster, Sept. 25, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

— Escanaba Upper Elementary, Sept. 25, 7-7:30 p.m.

— Escanaba Soo Hill, Sept. 26, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Girl Scouts is the premier organization for girls. Girls experience opportunities in a wide range of activities from outdoor education, STEM programs, financial literacy, community involvement, self-awareness, service, camping, archery programs, kayaking and canoeing, arts and crafts, cooking and lots more. Girls have an opportunity to earn their Bronze Award, Silver Award and Gold Award all while learning about the world around them. Stop by one of the registration nights to learn more. Adults are welcome in the program as leaders, assistants and troop mentors.

IXL Historical Museum to hold Fall Festival

HERMANSVILLE — The IXL Historical Museum in Hermansville will hold its annual Fall festival and farmers’ market on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors are welcome to bring a table or two to sell garden produce, flowers, seeds, perennials, crafts, gifts, jewelry and specialty foods. Hot pasties, hot coffee, water will be available for purchase, as well as baked sweets. There will be face painting for the children and fun old car rides.

Setup is at 9 a.m. A donation per table is requested. Call 906-236-5163 for more info. The event will be cancelled if the weather is bad.
