Delta Coin Club to meet

GLADSTONE — The next meeting of the Delta Coin Club is set for Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. The club meets every second Tuesday at 817 Delta Ave. Gladstone. New members or anyone interested in coins are always welcome.

ESCANABA — The Delta County Genealogical Society’s next meeting is Wednesday, Sept. 26.

Purple Heart 1976 meeting on Aug. 30

ESCANABA — The Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) Chapter 1976 will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at the clubhouse building, 1202 Sheridan Road. The MOPH is for all military veterans who sustained combat wounds during their service to the country.

Daily activities for ­seniors in Hermansville

HERMANSVILLE — The Hermansville Senior Center has various activities going on every week. Everyday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., walking is available. They also have a treadmill available. Morning coffee is also available everyday.

Every Tuesday and Friday, 15 games of bingo are played, starting at 12:45 p.m.

On Wednesday afternoons, enjoy a game of cards.

Craft day is the third Monday of the month.

Foot Clinic is on the third Tuesday of the month. The nurse arrives at 9 a.m. Bring a towel. Call the center to register for the foot clinic.

Lecture series from East Ludington Gallery

ESCANABA — The East Ludington Gallery, 1007 Ludington St. Escanaba, will be having a lecture series the third Thursday of every Month.

September’s lecture will be from Beth Cox on how glass paperweights are made.

It will be on Sept. 20 from 7 to 8 p.m., and it is open to the public free of charge.

Sons of the American Legion sets meeting

GLADSTONE — The next meeting of the Gladstone Sons of the American Legion Squadron 71 will be held Thursday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m. The Sons meet at the American Legion, located at 802 Delta Ave. in Gladstone.

Rapid Readers to meet

RAPID RIVER — The next meeting of the Rapid River Readers will take place Thursday, Sept. 13, at 10 a.m. at Jack’s Restaurant in Rapid River.

The novel for discussion is Felix Francis’ “Triple Crown.”

October’s choice, which will be discussed Oct. 11, is “Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir” by J.D. Vance, followed by Jessica Zueller’s “Pretty Is What Changes” on Nov. 8.
