HOUSTON TEXAS — Jordan Elizabeth Buckley of Houston, Texas was awarded a doctor of medicine degree on May 20 in San Antonio, Texas, at the Joe R, and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at the Convocation Center at the University of Texas. Buckley, who is the granddaughter of Jerry and Nancy Root of Escanaba, was one of three out of 210 graduates to receive the doctor of medicine with honor based on a 4.0 for the entire four years of medical school. She also was honored with entrance into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and entrance in the Marvin Forland M.D. Chapter of the Gold Humanism Society.

Buckley will do a transitional internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, Calif., and her dermatology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Texas.
