Rock Lions to hold breakfast June 17

ROCK — The Rock Lions’ monthly third Sunday all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet will take place on Sunday, June 17 (Fathers Day) at the Rock Lions Club on Hwy. M-35 in Rock.

There is a cost to attend. Children ages five and under eat free.

The monthly breakfast is held at the Rock Lions Clubhouse. The facility is available for rent by calling Jerry at 356-6475. The Rock Lions Club is a non-profit service organization that provides funding for charitable organizations and local needs.

Escanaba Class of 1963 55th Reunion

ESCANABA — The 55th reunion of the Escanaba Class of 1963 will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7 and Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018. Classmates will reunite at the Escanaba Elks Lodge on Tuesday at 5 p.m. They will then meet at the Terrace Bay Hotel on Wednesday with social hour at 5 p.m. followed by dinner, entertainment and dancing beginning at 6 p.m.

Spouses of members who have passed and friends of the class are welcome to attend.

Musical program planned at IXL museum

HERMANSVILLE — The IXL Historical Museum, W5561 River Street, Hermansville, will sponsor Bill Jamerson’s presentation of “Dollar-a-Day Boys,” a musical tribute to the Civilian Conservation Corps on Sunday, June 24 at 2 p.m. CST. No admission fee will be charged but donations are appreciated. Bring your lawn chairs.

Escanaba Class of 1968 reunion meeting

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Area High School Class of 1968 is holding a planning meeting for the upcoming 50-year reunion. The meeting will be held at Drifters Restaurant at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 18.

All classmates who may be interested in helping with the reunion are welcome to attend.

Funday Sunday Benefit Concert: U.P. Gumbo

BARK RIVER — The first program in the summer benefit concert series — now in its third year at Northern Sun Vineyard — supports Honor Flight programs and will take place June 17.

Marquette group U.P. Gumbo will present zydeco and New Orleans-style music. The concert will occur rain or shine.

Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Picnic lunches and snacks encouraged, but no carry-in alcoholic beverages are allowed.

Wine tastings will take place all afternoon with a free vineyard tour at 3 p.m. Tickets with wine tasting coupons are available in advance at a reduced rate at the winery and the Delta County Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are also available the day of the concert.

Northern Sun Vineyard is located south of Bark River. Follow Pure Michigan directional signs from U.S. 2 and vineyard signs along D Road (South Bark River Road).

Other summer concerts in the series include Genna and Jesse on July 15 and Kitty Donohoe on Aug. 19.

Opportunity offered to save life memories

ESCANABA — OSF Hospice is offering the “Life Memories” program. The Life Memories program allows OSF Hospice patients who are in the final stages of life the opportunity to relive and relate their memories for their loved ones. Volunteers conduct the person’s “life story” interviews and record them to DVD.

The program is a free service to their patients and their families. All information is kept confidential. Those interested in participating should contact OSF Hospice at 786-3915.
