Spring Feast tonight

GLADSTONE — The annual Spring Feast dinner will be held Monday, April 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Gladstone Jr. High cafeteria. Use the 10th Street entrance by the superintendent’s office or in the back by the parking lot of Jones School. There will be drumming, a short presentation, and giveaways. St. Anthony’s Church pasty sale this week

WELLS — St. Anthony’s Church is having a pasty sale on Thursday, April 19 and Friday, April 20. Pasties will be sold with or without rutabaga (while supplies last). Pick-up is at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba from noon to 4 p.m. To be guaranteed pasties, preorder by calling Debbie at 906-399-4259.

Dance revue with ­military theme May 19

ESCANABA — The K-Dance Express Dance Studio will be holding its annual dance revue on Saturday, May 19 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. This will be the 20th anniversary of K-Dance Express’ founding, and in honor of the occasion, the revue will feature a special theme, “A Salute to the Military.”

The program will be geared towards honoring all area veterans, both past and present. In keeping with the theme, remembrance luminary bags will be sold and then lit during the story part of the review. All proceeds raised will be donated to the Upper Peninsula Honor Flight. For more information about honoring a veteran with a luminary, call Patti at (906) 786-0864.

All photos collected for luminary bags will be used during a special tribute during the show’s finale. The deadline for submission of names and information regarding honored veterans is April 19.

Story Hour at Gladstone Library April 28

GLADSTONE — Splash in to spring and enjoy time at the Gladstone Public Library’s story hour.

Children ages 2 to 10 years old are invited to join in the festivities on Saturday, April 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Children will enjoy stories, create a special spring craft, eat snacks and sing songs.

No registration is necessary. For more information, call 428-4224. This story hour is sponsored by the Friends of the Gladstone Library.

GFWC to hold ‘Table Celebrations!’ April 28

ESCANABA — The International Committee of the GFWC Escanaba Woman’s Club is hosting a unique event, “Table Celebrations!”

On Saturday, April 28, members of the club will fill the Bonifas Arts Center with tables decorated in various themes, including “Spring Garden,” “Go Pack Go,” “4th of July,” “Spode Christmas,” “Cats and Dogs,” and many more.

The ticket price provides appetizers and a drink with time to view the themed tables. All proceeds go toward Project Smile, which provides dental surgeries for children in the USA and worldwide. The event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hermansville Hustle 5K

HERMANSVILLE — The North Central Chapter of the National Honor Society is hosting the annual Hermansville Hustle 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 28.

The race, held in memory of Sheila Sanville, will start at North Central Elementary in Hermansville at 9 a.m. CST.

Republicans to hold Lincoln Day event

ESCANABA — The Delta County Republican Party will host its annual Lincoln Day Dinner on April 27 at the Terrace Bay Hotel. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m.

In attendance will be some local and state candidates. Entertainment by Macy Neumeier, Ed McBroom, and Mary Snyder will follow.
