Elks Ladies Auxiliary board to meet Monday

ESCANABA — The Elks Ladies’ Auxiliary board meeting will be held Monday, April 2, at 5:30 pm at the Elks Lodge.

Tuesday bingo night hours change April 3

GLADSTONE — Starting Tuesday, April 3, Gladstone Senior Center Tuesday night bingo will change its hours as follows: Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., selling starts at 5 p.m., and calling at 6 p.m. For more information, call (906) 420-2730.

Hermansville Hustle run/walk approaching

HERMANSVILLE — The North Central Chapter of the National Honor Society is hosting the annual Hermansville Hustle 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 28.

The race held in memory of Sheila Sanville will start at North Central Elementary in Hermansville at 9 a.m. CST.

Bay de Noc Choral Society spring concert

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Choral Society is performing its annual Spring concert Sunday April 8 at 1:30 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba.

The concert has free admission and a free will offering will be taken.

This year’s program will feature American composed works, gospel songs, hymns, and spirituals. The highlight piece is a short cantata titled “They Call her Moses,” a work that was written to honor Harriet Tubman, a woman whose work to free slaves is well renowned.

All are invited to attend.

Rock dance April 8

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Mapleridge Rd, on Sunday, April 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. Come enjoy the music of Ron Jay & The Country Strangers.

There is a cost at the door and a free will donation lunch will be available.

American Legion District 11 meeting

POWERS — The Upper Peninsula Association of American Legions’ 11th District Spring meeting will take place Saturday, April 28, 2018 in Powers at Post #244. There will be a lunch at noon with the meeting with nominations and elections of district officers to begin at 1 p.m.
