Amvets Ladies Auxiliary to be rechartered

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Amvets Post 123 Ladies Auxiliary will reinstate the Ladies Auxiliary and charter on April 4 at the Amvets Post 123. After and interruption in the charter due to an influx in membership, the existing charter members gained enough interest to get the charter back and reinstated. A formal swearing in of officers by former Auxiliary President Judy Smith will be held at 6 p.m. on April 4 at the Amvets Post 123.

Bay de Noc Kennel Club meeting set for April 12

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Kennel Club will hold its next general meeting on Thursday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at the Kennel Club Building at 6687 N.75 Dr. Escanaba (just north of the Wells Sports Complex, next to the baseball field). The public is welcome to attend.

Women Today Retreat set for April 20-22

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — The 45th Annual Women Today retreat will take place April 20-22 at the Cisler Center at Lake Superior State University. The theme of this year’s retreat is “Are You Ready (For Christ’s Return)?” The speaker is Lynelle Pierce and music will be provided by Amy Shreve.

Mini sessions at the retreat include “Be ready — setting goals,” “Equipped for last days,” “Let go of past addictions” and “Roles for caregivers.”

Elks Ladies Auxiliary meeting Monday

ESCANABA — The Elks Ladies’ Auxiliary board meeting will be held Monday, April

2, at 5:30 pm at the Elks Lodge. Interested members are welcome to attend.

DAV to hold meeting

ESCANABA — The next scheduled meeting for the DAV Chapter 24 will be held on Monday, April 2 at 7 p.m. at the Military Order of the Purple Heart building, 1202 Sheridan Road, Escanaba.

Gladstone night bingo hours change Tuesday

GLADSTONE — Starting Tuesday, April 3, Gladstone Senior Center Tuesday night bingo will change its hours as follows: Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., selling starts at 5 p.m., and calling at 6 p.m. For more information, call (906) 420-2730.

Return of Ford River Fire Department breakfast

FORD RIVER — The Ford River Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a pancake breakfast and bake sale on Sunday, April 15 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Ford River Township Hall. Follow the signs from M-35 or US 2 & 41. Breakfast items that will be served include pancakes, scrambled eggs, American fries, sausage, coffee and orange juice. There is a fee to attend; kids under five eat free.

The fire department would like to remind the public to remember to change the batteries in smoke detectors and sends many thanks for the continued support.

Seventh Day Adventist food pantry hours

ESCANABA — The Community Service Center food pantry adjacent to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Escanaba is open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday and Saturday.
