Delta Coin Club to meet

GLADSTONE — The Delta Coin Club will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. Coin collectors wanted. The club meets every second Tuesday at 817 Delta Ave in Gladstone.

AAUW annual “Book Night” event Thursday

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Area Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women) will hold its annual “Book Night” at the home of Kathleen Bennett on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. Members and guests are encouraged to bring a dessert and a book to discuss with the group.

Members/guests may also attend without bringing a book.

Anyone interested in participating in this event should call 786-3415 by Feb. 14.

Membership is open to men and women holding an associates degree or higher. RSVP advisory council meets Feb. 20

ESCANABA — The Delta County Advisory Council of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will hold its meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 4 p.m. at the Community Action Agency, 507 1st Ave. N., Escanaba, MI 49829. RSVP is sponsored by the Community Action Agency & Human Resources Authority, Inc. The meeting is open to the public. If interested please call, Lori Giuliani at (906) 786-7080, Ext. 136 on or before Tuesday, Feb. 13. Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.

RSVP is funded by The Corporation for National and Community Service, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services/Aging and Adult Services Agency and the United Way of Delta County.

MADD seeks volunteers

ESCANABA — Volunteers are needed for MADD. Opportunities are available for those interested in volunteering a couple of times a year or a couple of times a week. There are a wide variety of opportunities to match interests and expertise. Some options include speaking, answering the help-line calls, organizing victim impact panels, mailing information or just displaying MADD red ribbons.

Taco Tuesday hosted by Legion Post 71 returns

GLADSTONE — American Legion Post 71 welcomes the public to Taco Tuesday serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. each week at the Gladstone Legion Hall, 802 Delta Ave. Both hard and soft tacos are available, along with nachos and nachos supreme.

Donations needed for annual book sale

ESCANABA — The Delta County League of Women voters is looking for donations of books, audio books, DVD’s and music CD’s to be sold at its annual book sale in August. They are also in need of large print books, which are often requested.

Funds from the annual sale are used to publish voter guides and for other voter services.

Donated materials should be no more than 10 years old and in good condition.

They can be delivered to Pat Rudden at First Bank (formerly Northern Michigan Bank), 1921 3rd Ave N , or you can call her at 280-1789 for pick up.

Sit-n-fit exercise class

ESCANABA — Fitness chair exercises to improve strength, stretching, balance, flexibility and muscle will be held every Monday and Friday at 11a.m. at the Escanaba Senior Center. Sign in at the office. The event is free.
