Suicide Survivors Group meets Monday

ESCANABA — The Suicide Survivor’s Support Group will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11 at Central United Methodist Church, 322 Lincoln Rd. in Escanaba. The support group is open to anyone who is grieving the loss of a family member or friend who has died of suicide. There is no charge to participate and new members are always welcome. Rapid River Readers meet Dec. 14

RAPID RIVER — Rapid Readers meet at Jack’s Restaurant in Rapid River on Thursday, December 14 at 10 a.m. Fredrik Backman’s “Britt Marie Was Here” is the December novel for discussion. New members are welcome. Call Peg Netchey at 428-9668 if there are any questions.

Legion Post 115 holds Christmas party Dec. 7

FLAT ROCK — The annual Christmas party of the Escanaba River American Legion Post 115 and the Auxiliary will be held at the Escanaba Township Hall in Flat Rock on Thursday. Social hour will begin at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m.

Audubon Club to meet

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Audubon Club will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in Room 961, Heirman Building at Bay College in Escanaba. This meeting is open to anyone interested in birding; young or old. Regular members are encouraged to attend as this is a meeting when we discuss arrangements for the annual Christmas Bird Count.

Winners of Lions Club week 18 raffle named

WELLS — The winners of the Wells Lions Club raffle for the week of Dec. 4 are Cory Kroll of Gladstone and Dale Larmarche of Escanaba. Kroll and Lamarche won $250 each.

Day Services seeks printed materials

ESCANABA — Community Action Agency Adult Day Services, formerly Perspectives Adult Care Center is in need of your old greeting cards, calendars, and magazines to be used in different activities.

The pictures will be used to make notepads, bookmarks, and daily place mats. Cards do not have to be taken apart as they will be incorporated into an activity.

Items may be dropped off at Community Action Adult Day Services, located at the Gary Abrahamson Jr. Memory Care Center, 2635 1st Ave. S. in Escanaba (past West Highland, the last building on the left behind Bishop Noa Home) or at any senior center in the Delta County area.

GLADSTONE — The Memorial United Methodist Clothes Closet is open each Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Gently used clothing is available for all. The church is located at 1920 Lake Shore Drive.
