ESCANABA — Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties, now has appointments available to women in need of screening services for the following:

Breast Exam and Mammogram

Pelvic Exam and Pap test

Blood Pressure Screening

Cholesterol and Glucose Screening (WISEWOMAN clients only)

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Navigation Program (BCCCNP) Screening services listed above are free of charge through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Navigation Program. A woman must be age 40-64, meet income guidelines, and have no health insurance or be under-insured. BCCCNP may also help with breast and cervical follow-up care that may be needed if a woman with insurance has high out-of-pocket costs that her insurance does not cover.

WISEWOMAN services are offered to women receiving BCCCNP services. WISEWOMAN helps women reduce their risk for many chronic diseases, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar. Participants benefit from health coaching, group programs and activities, and the entrepreneurial gardening program.

Public Health’s Women’s Health Clinic also offers yearly breast and pelvic exams, and a woman’s insurance or Medicaid will be billed.
