Students celebrated Arbor Day

Courtesy photos Ten students from James T. Jones Elementary celebrated Arbor Day on Friday, April 28 by assisting in a tree planting event near the City of Gladstone Department of Public Works building. Mark Polega, director of pubic works, began by explaining how to best plant a tree. From there, the students grabbed shovels and got to work. In all, the ten students planted five ornamental crab apple trees and two shade tress. Activities like this help Gladstone maintain its “Tree City USA” status.
