STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The parents of Taylor Nicole VanLanen and Michael Thomas Jean are happy to announce the engagement of their children.

Taylor is the daughter of Bark River residents Brian and Kelley VanLanen.

She graduated from Bark River-Harris High School in 2011 and received her bachelors degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Taylor is currently working toward a masters degree in wellness coaching with an expected graduation date of December of 2017. She is employed with Ascension Medical Group.

Michael is the son of Thomas Jean and Margaret (Micki) Heribacka, both of Escanaba. He graduated from Escanaba Area High School in 2010 and, will be receiving his bachelors degree in sports management with a concentration in fitness and wellness in the spring of 2017. He is employed by Berkshire-Hathaway Travel Protection.

Both Taylor and Michael currently reside in Stevens Point, Wis.

A wedding date of Sept. 16 is planned.
