NEW LIFE

ESCANABA — Sunday worship services will take place at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and nursery is available for both services. A variety of children and adult discipleship groups are offered in both small and large group settings with specific needs in mind. “Connections” fellowship will be held immediately after each service.

Men’s Bible study gathers Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Christian men’s fellowship coffee hour follows at 8:15 p.m. at Culver’s.

The ladies luncheon is held on the second Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Stonehouse.

Pastor Ronald Zindler will preside on the Gospel reading, John 20: 19-31 and several resurrection appearances that proved to even doubting Thomas that Jesus’ bodily resurrection was real. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will also be observed.

ESCANABA — The prayer vigil for the Keryx Walk (prison ministry) began on Thursday evening and runs through Sunday morning. Individuals can sign up for one-hour slots.

The First Sunday after Easter worship is at 9:30 a.m., and this is Pizza Sunday, with a pizza lunch following worship. There will not be Sunday school, but there will be youth ministry at 7 p.m. at Central UM Church.

The offering for the Haiti School Hot Lunch Program can be turned in this week.

“Secret Prayer Pals” will be starting up soon, pairing a youth with an adult for prayers for a month.

Chancel choir practice is Wednesday at 7:15 p.m.

On Sunday, April 23 at 5:30 p.m. there will be a taco bar and pie social for a fundraiser for Camp Michigamme scholarships.
