Hampton’s celebrate 50th

GLADSTONE — Terry and Susan (Tolonen) Hampton of Gladstone celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house reception at the historic Mather Inn in Ishpeming, with family and friends on Saturday, Aug. 12.

The couple were honored with their rehearsal dinner at this site 50 years ago. They were married Aug. 19, 1967 at the Mitchell Methodist Church in Negaunee.

Members of the wedding party who attended the anniversary celebration included: best man and groom’s brother, Thomas Hampton and wife, Pat, of Lansing, Mich.; bridesmaid and bride’s cousin, Louise Folk Nuttall and husband Jeff of Houston, Texas; ringbearer and groom’s nephew, Jeff Hampton and wife Katie and sons Ben and Josh of De Pere, Wis.; usher and groom’s cousin, Alan Nelson of Negaunee; and organist and groom’s cousin, Kristine Lehto Grunwald and husband David of Marquette.

The Hampton’s three children and their families joined in the celebration: son, Tom (Krista) of Kalamazoo, Mich.; daughter, Terra (Robin) Hampton of Wyoming, Mich.; and son, Matt (Sarah) of Laurium, Mich. Terry and Susan’s six grandchildren were all present: Tyler, Emma and Andrew of Kalamazoo, Mich. and Sophia, Abby and Henrik of Laurium, Mich.
