Bill and Cassie Lapinskas

BARK RIVER — Celebrating 50 years of marriage, Bill and Cassie Lapinskas were married on April 4, 1970 in Tacoma, Wash. They met on a blind date in 1968. Bill was stationed at McChord Air Force Base and Cassie was a senior in high school. When Bill was discharged from the Air Force in 1971, they moved to Bill’s home town of Villa Park, Ill.

Bill was employed by the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad and worked for the railroad until he retired in 2008. Cassie worked at various companies as a secretary and bookkeeper and retired in 2010.

They have two daughters, Teri Micksch, of Kaukauna, Wis., and Amy Morin, of Ford River, and seven grandchildren.
