NEW LIFE

ESCANABA — Sunday worship services will take place at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and nursery is available for both services. A variety of children and adult discipleship groups are offered in both small and large group settings with specific needs in mind. “Connections” fellowship is held immediately following each service.

Men’s Bible study gathers Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Christian men’s fellowship coffee hour follows at 8:15 p.m. at Culver’s.

On Wednesday, youth groups, Royal Rangers, girl’s ministries, adult Bible study, and life groups will meet at 6:30 p.m. Nursery is available.

Celebrate Recovery is on Thursday with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. for fellowship, and meeting starting at 7 p.m.

During the Christmas weekend, there will be three services to choose from. Christmas Eve services will be at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., and a Christmas Day service will be held at 10:30 a.m. The services will all be the same and last about an hour. Nursery will be provided for children between six weeks and two and a half years of age.

ESCANABA –Sunday morning prayer starts at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship until 9:30 a.m. Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. with two classes for adults, “Fundamentals of the Faith” and “Love or Die.” Younger children meet for “Generations of Grace.” Pre-worship prayer and meditation begins at 10:30 a.m. The worship service follows at 10:45 a.m. Nursery is available.

Kids for Truth Family Ministry meets Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The program is for preschool children up to sixth grade. Transportation is available.

GLADSTONE — Sunday morning worship services will be held at 9:15 a.m. and 11 a.m., with fellowship in the foyer at 10:30 a.m. Grace Kid’s Ministry meets during the 11 a.m. worship service for children in nursery through fifth grade. The 1824 Young Adults Bible study meets at 7 p.m. in room 112.

Student ministries for sixth- through 12th-graders will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Christmas Eve services will be at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. No nursery will be available during these services.

Christmas morning worship will be at 10 a.m. The Grace Kid’s program will not be offered during this service, but nursery will be available.

New Year’s Day Sunday worship is at 10 a.m. There will be nursery but no Grace Kid’s program.

GLADSTONE — Advent will be celebrated with the lighting of the Advent Wreath, beginning at 10 a.m. The Eucharist will follow, with the Rev. Duane Wils as presider and the Rev. Robert Flaminio as preacher of the service. Childcare is available each Sunday. A Christmas “white elephant” gift exchange will be held during the church’s coffee hour. The church’s manger will also be put up on Sunday in preparation for the Holy Nativity.

Outreach volunteers are needed for various feeding programs including Bay College suppers, Community of Christ monthly meals supporting St. Vincent de Paul’s food pantry and the Saturday Noon Luncheon at the Salvation Army. Nonperishable food items are welcome on Sunday mornings for our local food pantry.

A Christmas Eve Mass will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24. There will be no Christmas Day service.

HYDE/POWERS — The fourth Sunday in Advent will be celebrated at St. Paul’s 8:30 a.m. worship service. Pastor Ronald Zindler will preside and preach on the Gospel reading for this Sunday, Matthew 1: 18-25, and the names “Jesus” (the Lord saves) and “Immanuel” (God with us) with the theme “What’s in a name?”. The Youth Ministry for grades 8 to 12 will meet at the parsonage at 7 p.m.

At 9 a.m., the Sanctuary Choir will rehearse and junior and high school youth will meet in the upper room for a continuing DVD discussion with Ross Rahoi and Aubree Peterson. Elementary students will meet with Paddy Fitch at 9:15 a.m. and adult Bible study will be held at 9:30 a.m. in Westminster Hall. The 10:30 a.m. worship service on the fourth Sunday of Advent will be led by Rev. Dr. Cheryl Duke and Liturgist Heidi Robitaille. A musical offering will be given by Sally Briggs and Music Director D. Ann Wood. Childcare with Bible stories is available in the nursery from 10 a.m. to noon for children aged infant through preschool.
