Indian Lake fishing tourney set

MANISTIQUE — The Friends of Indian Lake Fishing Tournament is set for Aug. 12 at Indian Lake State Park. A Michigan Recreation Passport is required to enter the state park.

The tourney, which starts at 7 a.m., will feature four categories for adults and youth (walleye, bass, northern pike, panfish). The cost is $10 for the adult division and no entry fee for youth 14 years and under. Youth 15-16 must compete in the adult division. All adults 17 years and older must have a current Michigan fishing license.

All fish registered must be checked in by 5:30 p.m. and will be judged by total length, with undersized fish being disqualified.

Registration will begin Aug. 10 at the camp host site and final registration at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 12 at the tourney headquarters located at the boat launch.

Trophies will be awarded to the first-place winners in each category along with prizes for second and third-place winners.
