MARINETTE — The Escanaba boys placed fifth in Saturday’s Marinette Invitational cross country meet.

Sophomore Derek Douglas paced the Eskymos in fifth and classmate Brody Bevins took eight. Freshman Cierra Ostrenga led the Esky girls in 17th.

“It was hot down there, but the kids ran well,” said Esky coach Randi Wender.

The Eskymos are idle until Sept. 25 when they enter the Munising Invitational.
