Braves doubles teams lead sweep over Mountaineers

GLADSTONE — A sweep of the doubles powered the Gladstone Braves to a 6-2 victory over Iron Mountain here Tuesday in girls tennis.

Taylor Trudeau and Sydney Herioux, playing at the No. 1 spot, led the doubles sweep.

All four doubles teams only needed two sets to upend the Mountaineers and number three doubles featured a tie breaker winning 6-3, 7-6.

Singles

No. 1 – Andie Balenger, G, def. Jordan Stoner, 6-3, 6-1.

No. 2 – Mary McCormick, IM, def. Alaina Trudeau, 6-3, 6-1.

No. 3 – Arianna Morel, IM, def. Kylie Williams, 6-2, 6-7, 6-4.

No. 4 – Abby Rouleau, G, def. Danika Joul, 6-2, 6-4.

Doubles

No. 1 – Taylor Trudeau-Sydney Herioux, G, def. Saylor Swartout-Clair Montgrain, 6-2, 6-4.

No. 2 – Marinnea LaFave-Olivia Saari G, def. Becca Brown-Morgan Garvagila, 6-3, 6-3.

No. 3 – Emma DeLaire-Jacinda Lippens, G, def. Sunshine Carlson-Megan Murry, 6-3, 7-6.

No. 4 – Emily Marenger-Kate Matthews, G, def. Mikayla Peycher-Nelajayah Kimiseo, 6-1, 6-0.
