Lancour nails ace

ESCANABA — Veteran golfer Bob “Beaver” Lancour recorded his first Upper Peninsula hole-in-one Tuesday when he dunked his tee shot on the 154-yard 13th hole at Escanaba Country Club. Lancour, who also had an ace in Florida, used a 4-iron.

Gladstone golf

GLADSTONE — Karen McCorkle posted a 40 in the Irish Oaks Golf Club women’s league Monday. Sally Erkkila and Rosie Spindler hit 42, Debbie Peterson 43, Sue Cossette 46, Cheryl Kamin 47, Vickie Isaacson and Robin Schwartz 48 and Amanda Norkoli 49.

Terrace Bluff golf

GLADSTONE — Geri Nelson’s 44 topped women’s league play Tuesday at Terrace Bluff Golf and Country Club. Margie Movalson had 45, Betty Fleury, Wendy Hathway, Deb Valiquette, and Mary Johnson 46, Julie Mayville, Christine Nelson and Becky Pouliot 47, Kelly Carlson and Carol Prins 48 and Mel Beauchamp.

Highland golf

HYDE — Mike Brayak had an even par round of 71 Tuesday in men’s Twilight League at Highland Golf Club. Jeff Lampi had 73, Dennis Dittrich 74, Scott Kwarciany 75, Brian Scheeneman 76, Dave Hosking 77, Jim Peltier 78 and Mark Kleiman and Don Cousineau 79.
