Escanaba golf

ESCANABA — Dave Harris was dazzling Tuesday, shooting a 2-under-par 69 in men’s Twilight League at Escanaba Country Club.

Brian Robinette hit 73, Matt Smith and Tom Zeni had 74, Don LeMire and Randy Eis 75, Jake Berlinski and Jim Aird 77 and Mark Young 78.

In the nine-hole division, Harris had 33, LeMire 34, Tyler Delvaux 36, Berlinski, Smith, Jude VanDamme and Jake Wiles 37, Young, Robinette, Hunter Bradford, Alex Sullivan, Kurt Schwalbach and Dave Kositzky 38 and Ed McCarthy 39.

Couples scramble

GLADSTONE — A couples Big Hole Scramble will be held Saturday at Terrace Bluff Golf and Country Club. Cost is $70 per couple and includes grilled food and cash prizes. Call the pro shop (428-2343) to register.

GLADSTONE — The annual “Meet The Braves” gathering will be held Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. at Marble Athletic Field for all fall athletes.

U.P. schools cited

ESCANABA — Two Upper Peninsula schools are among the best at providing multiple-sport options for their student athletes.

Marquette has the best showing in Class A, with 82.6 percent of their students participating in multiple sports.

Gladstone is second in Class B with an 83.8 percent showing.

Terrace Bluff golf

GLADSTONE — Bob Kleiman and Rick LaFleur had a 1-under-par 35 Wednesday to pace scoring in the Terrace Bluff Golf and Country Club men’s league. Dan DeRouin hit 36, Ryan Pairolero had 37, and Dan Fleury,Doug Beachamp, Mike Pouliot, 39, Todd Wulf and Terry Hoffmeyer hit 39.

Highland golf

HYDE — Heidi Erickson was in the zone Wednesday, posting a 39 in women’s league at Highland Golf Club. Anne Madalinski hit 43, Denise Porath and Debbie Parrett had 46, Anna Larson and Karen Ettenhofer 47, Marilyn Cossette 48 and Berta Good, Lori Johnson and Carol Robinette 49.
