Braves’ swimmers compete at Westwood

WESTWOOD — The Gladstone swim team competed at its first meet Saturday at Westwood High School. The girls won four out of seven races and took two second- place finishes and one third place. They won the 200 medley, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley relays.

The boys team won two out of six relays. It took one second place finish and two third places. It won the 200 backstroke and the 200 breaststroke relays.

“We have a team with a number of new swimmers so this was a good meet to have them swim with the experienced swimmers,” said coach Tom Desy. “The times that the swimmers had were good for this time of the season.They have been working hard at practice the past four weeks and it was nice to see their progress.”

The Braves’ next meet will be in Kingsford Dec. 12.
