POWERS — The drought is over.

The North Central volleyball team broke through and won its first match in over a year by beating Rapid River Thursday night 3-1 (25-15, 20-25, 28-26, 25-20).

“I think we played great,” said NC coach Lynn Britton. “We communicated a lot better than we ever have especially coming off pretty tough losses against Mid Pen and North Dickinson.”

Rapid River made it a close match by winning the second set and pushing the Jets in the final two periods but were unable to pull out the victory.

“It was a fun game,” said Rockets’ coach Kristy Kerstner. “They kept pushing and they played hard. It was just our little errors that killed us.”
