Women’s slowpitch

GLADSTONE — Stewarts and Elmers County Market split a doubleheader Thursday in a battle of the top two teams in the Women’s Slowpitch Softball League.

Stewarts defeated Elmers 5-4 in the first game.

Stewarts fell behind 4-0 early but rallied back to score five unanswered runs to get the win. Heidi Perryman led Stewarts with three hits including the winning RBI in the seventh inning. Sarah Raciot added two hits for Stewarts. Kendyl Miller and Kelley Spettel led Elmers with two hits each.

Elmers took the second game beating Stewarts 15-12.

Stewarts took a 4-0 lead in the first inning but Elmers overcame slow start to finish strong in the high scoring game.
