Ishpeming spills Braves

ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming girls basketball team defeated Gladstone 76-46 Thursday in a non-conference game.

“We were competitve in the first half,” said Gladstone coach Eric Lundin. “We got into foul trouble and I had to sit two of my top players.”

Hannah Smith had a big game for the Hematites as she scored 23 points. Khora Swanson also had a big night as she had 18 points.

Maddie Ahlgren was the leading scorer for the Braves with 11 points and Kaitlyn Hardwick had eight points to go with 11 rebounds.

Gladstone was able to keep it close in the first quarter as the Hematites took a 18-12 lead. Ishpeming led 35-21 at halftime.

The game unraveled in the second half as Ishpeming outscored Gladstone 42-25.

Gladstone will visit Kingsford Tuesday.
