GLADSTONE - Earl J. Plimpton Jr. graduated on May 3 from Michigan Technological University where he was awarded a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

Prior to attending MTU, Earl graduated from Bay de Noc Community College in 2010, where he earned an associate's degree, emphasizing mathematics and physics. He is also a 2007 graduate of Rapid River High School, and has memberships in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Tau Beta Pi, Mechanical Engineering Honor Society.
Earl is employed at the General Motors Technology Center in Warren, Mich., as a technical analyst and will be residing in Sterling Heights, Mich.
Earl is the son of Earl and Carri Plimpton of Gladstone. His grandparents are Bill and Donna Deneve of Gladstone, and the late Earl (Leo) and Helen Plimpton, also of Gladstone.
Local pair named to Lawrence dean's list
APPLETON, Wis. - The following area students have been named to the 2014 Lawrence University Dean's List for maintaining a 3.4 grade point average or higher for the full 2013-14 academic year.
Catherine Lynch, daughter of Philip and Jane Lynch, Escanaba, is a 2010 graduate of Escanaba Public High School.
Perry Uhazie, son of Catherine Uhazie, Escanaba, is a 2013 EHS graduate.

Moore awarded doctorate degree
WAUKESHA, Wis. - Steven Moore graduated on May 11 from Carroll University where he was awarded a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
A 2005 graduate of Escanaba High School, Steven received a bachelor's degree in biology from Ferris State University in 2009. He has accepted a traveling therapist position with Advanced Medical.
Steven is the son of Jim and Karen Moore of Escanaba. His grandparents are Marilyn and the late Oliver Christiansen and the late Clarence and Helen Moore.
