Dorothy McKnight asked local daycare kids:
"Are you looking forward to going back to school?
What do you think it will be like?"
“I think it will be easy except for math. I hope we go on field trips. Last year we went to a museum saw a snake. This year I hope we go to someplace different.”
“I know I will have to hand in some papers.?I already did some by cutting out ‘D’ words and pasteing them on a duck. It was easy.”
“I’ll get to see my friends but I don’t like homework so I’ll have to work very hard. But I hope we can go on a field trip to Oahu.”
“It’s gonna be easy. I’m gonna be a helper for the teacher. I’ll keep the kids from getting away because I’ll lock the door and take the key.”
“I wish summer was longer but when I graduate from first grade, I’ll wear a cap like I did in kindergarten, but I don’t know which color.”
“It’s going to be pretty hard because we’ll be doing times. But I like to read a lot so I hope we get to go to the library.”
