WEST BEND, Wis. - Harriet M. Spieth, nee Williams, 75, of West Bend, was called home to be with her Lord and other loved ones, including her husband and granddaughter, on Thursday, June 19, 2014.
She was born on Aug. 4, 1938, in Escanaba, to the late Brendan and Margaret (nee Fragile) Williams. She was united in marriage to Walter "Ron" Spieth on March 8, 1958 in Waynsville, Mo., and after their marriage the couple lived in Escanaba. In 1962 they moved to Milwaukee and then in 1965 they moved to Port Washington, where they lived until moving to West Bend in 1993.
Harriet worked both as a nurse and then as a drug and alcohol counselor for Ozaukee County up until her retirement in 2001.
She is survived by six children, Irene (Dar) Gager of Marquette, Mike Spieth of Sante Fe, N.M., Marge Spieth of West Bend, Wis., Ron (Jeanette) Spieth of West Bend, Wis., Matt (Anne) Spieth of Plymouth, and Jennifer (Gary) Lorenz of Cascade, Wis.; 10 grandchildren, Allison Gager, Nick Keller, Mandy Keller, Mara Keller, Jeff Spieth, Amie Spieth, Leah Spieth, Chris Spieth, Erin Spieth, and Tanner Lorenz; two brothers, Michael (Pat) Williams of Florida, and Brendan Williams II of Michigan; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, McKenna Lorenz; and a sister, Mary Williams.
A memorial service in remembrance of Harriet will be held on Saturday, July 19, at 1 p.m., at the Myrhum Patten Funeral Home, 1315 West Washington St., West Bend, Wis. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, July 19, from 11 a.m., until the time of service.
The family would like to thank Dr. Burfeind and his staff, the West Bend Cancer Center, along with the staff of the Lighthouse communities and Serenity Hospice for all their help and care for Harriet.
