Doreen Louise (Good) Bartoszek
Doreen was a skilled seamstress. As a 4-H leader, she taught sewing and knitting to girls in the Perronville community. She also taught adult education courses in the Bishop Sewing Technique and spent many years judging sewing and knitting projects at the Dickinson County Fair. She was an excellent cook and outstanding baker, making Swedish recipes handed down from her mother. Doreen expressed her love of beauty and nature in the warm and charming dcor of her home and her carefully tended garden, sharing her "garden tour" with family and friends.
For ten years of her retirement, Doreen wintered with her husband, Tom, in El Jobean, Fla. in the Vizcaya Lake Community. She enjoyed golfing, community events, story-telling, and visits with neighbors and family.
Doreen was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, Highland Golf Club, and Bark River Ladies Bridge Club.
Doreen's friends, many of whom she had known all her life, were very important to her. She was always curious and asked many questions, often with a smile. She loved her family, was know as the "family historian," and expressed her love through food preparation and attention to details of each event and homecoming. We will all dearly miss being welcomed home by her.
