The controversy on the Garden Peninsula regarding wind turbines is not about "green energy" or progress, it is about money. As usual, a select few will gain while the vast majority will lose directly or indirectly.
There is no progress in the erection of already obsolete machines that, at best, can provide minimal energy (3 percent nationwide) which is not needed in the Upper Peninsula.
There is nothing "green" about these towering machines. The bird deaths alone belie that theory. The deluge of tax revenue is not going to happen. Ask the assessor.
More than anything else, the human misery visited on our neighbors by their proximity to these towers is unconscionable.
Beware, Delta County, it will be too late when these machines appear on your horizon.
