BRAMPTON TOWNSHIP - A 12-year-old boy died Sunday when the four-wheeler he was riding struck a semi tractor trailer on M-35 in Brampton Township, north of Gladstone, according to a news release from the Delta County Sheriff's Department.
The boy was a passenger on a four-wheeler driven by another male juvenile when the accident occurred near 26th Lane shortly after 5 p.m., said deputies.
According to the news release, the two boys were attempting to cross the highway when the four-wheeler struck a southbound semi tractor trailer. The semi was pulling heaving equipment on a trailer.

A Rampart Ambulance leaves the scene of a fatal accident which occurred Sunday evening in Brampton Township, north of Gladstone. The other youth was transported by ambulance to OSF St. Francis Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and later released, according to Delta County Sheriff’s Department which continues to investigate the accident.

Assisting deputies at the scene were Michigan State Police (MSP) from the Gladstone Post, MSP Motor Carrier Division, MSP Accident Reconstructionist, Rampart Emergency Medical Services, Delta County Victim Services Unit, and Brampton Township Volunteer Fire Department.
