ESCANABA - An Escanaba woman is scheduled to go to trial this summer for allegedly forging her paycheck for housekeeping at a residence in Gladstone in 2012.
Donna Mae Smith, 57, is charged with one count of uttering and publishing, a 14-year felony. During a pretrial conference in Delta County Circuit Court last week, a trial date was scheduled for June 11-12.
Smith was arrested earlier this year on two counts of uttering and publishing. Count one related to alteration of a Dec. 18, 2012, check for $4,957.96 and count two related to alteration of an Oct. 4, 2012 check for $1,950.92.
Count one was bound over from district court to circuit court during Smith's preliminary hearing last month.
Following Smith's arrest at the Delta County Sheriff's Department on Feb. 19, she was released from police custody after posting a $5,000 cash bond the same day.
