GLADSTONE - Marilyn J Mylander, 84, of Gladstone, Mich., formerly of Wells, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Sunny View Adult Foster Care following a lengthy illness, she went home to be with her Heavenly Father.
Marilyn was born in Escanaba, Mich., Jan. 10, 1930, the daughter of Ernest and Matilda (Buckland) Ericksen. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1948. She lived in Escanaba most of her life.
Marilyn married Marvin Mylander at Calvary Baptist Church of Escanaba on Sept. 23, 1950. Marvin preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 2005.

Marilyn is survived by five children, two sons, Dan (Kathy) Mylander of Escanaba and Doug (Sherri) Mylander of Greer, S.C., three daughters, Debbie (Mick) VanEffen of Gladstone, Donna (Brent) Papineau and Diane Lancour, all of Escanaba. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and one more due any day.
Marilyn was a sweet, loving, compassionate, caring and sharing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed most being with family, playing games and spending time with her family and friends.
Marilyn attended Calvary Baptist Church of Escanaba, she was an active member, deaconess, choir member and was a member of one of the churches favorite trios of years past with Marilyn, Marvel Goodman and Ruth Campbell.
Marilyn is preceded in death by husband, Marvin; infant son, David; parents, Ernest and Tillie Ericksen.
Visitations will be at Anderson Funeral Home on Friday, March 28, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Funeral services celebrating the life of Marilyn Mylander will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Swillum officiating. A luncheon will be served following the service in the Church Fireside room. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
