ESCANABA - The word "Yooper" will soon appear in the dictionary.
A press conference held Monday in Escanaba City Chambers revealed that, the term "yooper," will appear in the 2014 copyright printing of "Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, Eleventh Edition."
"Yooper," a noun, will be defined as such: "a native or resident of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan - used as a nickname."
