Emmy Kulkki, a former resident of Rock, reached the 100 year milestone on Aug. 23, 2013. She enjoyed a quiet family celebration with her sons Richard and Terry in Kentucky last summer. Emmy has spent many winters at her condo in Florida, and more recently moved into the Finnish American Rest Home in Lake Worth, Fla. She has been an active member in the Finnish Center in Lake Worth where she organized the weekly bingo 12 years ago and enjoyed dancing. To honor Emmy, her many Florida friends gathered to celebrate her special day again on Jan. 26 at the Lake Worth Finnish Center with 68 people in attendance. She was serenaded by an "accordion" choir, and presented with a number of gifts, including an outrageous pair of "100" eye glasses she is pictured wearing. Emmy remains in perfect health and plans to continue dancing and enjoying many more years.
